Kashi and the National Honey Board are partnering during National Honey Month to spotlight the important role honey bees play in our ecosystem and products.

With each bite of Kashi cereal with honey, you’re helping to support bee research.

September is National Honey Month

Honey bees are responsible for more than 35% of the foods we eat and the honey we enjoy, and they need our help! Honey bees pollinate more than 90 different crops! The next time you see a honey bee, thank her for the apples, avocados, celery, watermelon and countless other fruits and vegetables they pollinate.

Next time you’re enjoying a bowl of delicious Kashi cereal with honey, you can enjoy it even more knowing that you’re also supporting beekeepers and their efforts to keep honey bees healthy. You’re also strengthening the connection between our pollinators and our planet’s entire ecosystem.

As part of National Honey Month, Kashi is making a donation to Project Apis m., the largest honey bee non-profit in the U.S., who is committed to enhancing the health and vitality of honey bee colonies through research. Learn more how you can support honey bee research and Project Apis m.

Honey Bee Facts

1/12 of a Teaspoon

On average, a honey bee hive will produce 60 lbs. of honey a year, with each bee producing only a 1/12 of a teaspoon of honey in their lifetime!

7 Species

There are more than 20,000 different species of bees in the world, but only seven recognized species of honey bees. These amazing insects are distinguished by a secondary stomach called a honey sac, and in their ability to make and store honey.

Little Chemists

Honey bees are chemists, naturally converting nectar from flowers into the honey. And, they do it in the most efficient factory in the world…the beehive!

Honey. Mother Nature’s Sweetener.

Straight from the flower to the bee to our Honey Toasted Organic Oat Cereal. Using honey as a natural sweetener is one of the many ways we can bring a touch of sweetness to our foods. Honey delivers our products all-natural indulgence—a sweetness that’s derived purely from the flowers where bees forage. Plus, honey has all-natural minerals, antioxidants, vitamins and prebiotics.

We appreciate your support in purchasing Kashi products with honey so that we can continue supporting beekeepers and honey bee health research.
